Providing over two decades of experience in geopolitical risk, political analysis, and democratic governance, George Katcharava stands as a seasoned expert in country risk and conflict-sensitive analysis across Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, Central Asia, and the Western Balkans. His experience exemplifies deep insight into how political volatility, institutional fragility, and regional dynamics impact sovereign risk and investment climates.
George has held senior leadership roles with international organizations, government, business and research institutions, including NATO, UN, OSCE, EU, and donor governments, where he advised on:
George brings a rigorous academic foundation in International Affairs and International Security. He is fluent in English, Russian, Georgian, and proficient in Serbian and Ukrainian, and he operates across diverse linguistic and cultural contexts with ease. George is a regular contributor to strategic risk assessments, geopolitical commentary, and high-level advisory for international institutions and financial stakeholders. His earlier policy work informed national security strategies and international cooperation.

Dr. James Lyon, Ph.D.
Senior Strategic Analyst
Dr. Lyon has worked for three decades in private and public sector crisis management/crisis communications, security, and project management, specializing in political and risk analysis in conflict and post-conflict countries throughout the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Africa, and South-West Asia.
With a decade of diplomatic experience, he has worked at the senior strategic and management levels in the private and public sector in fields as diverse as mining and anti-terrorism, as well as Small and Medium Enterprise development. He has extensive experience in international development, public sector institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
His project planning, implementation and management experience includes over 10 years in Chief of Party/Country Project Director roles, as well as conducting front-line media relations, advocacy, and corporate communications. He has a proven track record of policy and scholarly books, reports, and articles, as well as Op/Eds and media appearances.
Dr. Lyon speaks multiple languages, including Serbo-Croat variants, German, and Russian.
